I wish it were
a lockdown of the world
It would suit my mood
as I sit and brood
Over all the automatons
and their credit cards
Hoarding and avoiding
their humanity
As all the mastodons
on Wall Street
Compete to ruin
others without
a twinge of remorse
I see people
rushing to help them
But not so much
in the basin
those without means
living their shattered dreams
a moment longer
until they realize
it's best they die
and leave the greater reward
to those better born.
