Climbin' Tree

In the basin

I saw the trees

and not the forest

The limbs

and not the leaves

How one was ramrod

straight

How another

bent

I chose a tree

for climbin'

Passing by hundreds

more or less

I guess they were

all pretty much the same

but a climbin' tree

is best.
